Today, the state is officially recognizing the lifting of the Stay At Home Order for Lancaster County, easing the aggressive COVID-19 mitigation strategies that have been in place since March. Lebanon County moved into this “yellow phase” of reopening last Friday. This does not mean that our senior living communities in Lancaster and Lebanon counties will return to normal immediately.
However, a plan to ease restrictions for our Independent Living residents is being developed. Luthercare is taking steps to safely and carefully restore services and create a new normal in areas such as visitation, dining and activities. Residents will be informed of the new directives through virtual town hall presentations, printed material and posted reminders.
We will also share public updates with family members, friends and the greater community on our website and via social media.
All restrictions, including no visitation, will remain in our Healthcare and Personal Care Centers. We encourage families and residents to communicate regularly through phone calls, texts, video chat, and other virtual means. We have team members who can help. If you need assistance, please reach out to the Executive Director or Administrator at your campus. They can be reached at Luther Acres, 717.626.1171; at St. John’s Herr Estate, 717.684.0678; and at Spang Crest, 717.274.1495.
We urge residents and their families to continue taking all precautions to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, including wearing face masks, washing hands frequently, maintaining six feet of distance, and staying home if not feeling well.
Thank you for your support, understanding and encouragement as we balance protecting our residents while the greater community opens up around us.
