Luther Acres to Host Book Festival Open to the Greater Community

Luther Acres, a Luthercare community, is excited to announce its upcoming Book Fest, a celebration of literature, community, and lifelong learning. The festival will take place on Saturday, March 29, and will be open to residents of the retirement community and the general public.

The Luther Acres Book Fest will feature more than 20 authors of both fiction and nonfiction and all genres presenting book talks, book signings, and interactive sessions. The festival is geared to all ages.

“We are thrilled to open our doors to the greater community for this special event,” said Beth Bucher, Manager of Wellness Programs at Luther Acres. “One of our residents – who is an author herself – sparked the idea for this book festival, and we’re looking forward to creating a way for residents and visitors of all ages to connect over a shared interest and love of reading and learning.”

The festival will feature author book talks – presenting about their books as well as a variety of other topics, including how to bring characters to life, how to manage a career as a writer, and the importance of collecting and writing ancestral and family stories. The day will also feature book sales and signings with the authors, many of whom are local to Lancaster County.

The event will run from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Luther Acres Towne Center, located at 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. Giveaway baskets will be distributed at various points throughout the event. Light refreshments will be available to purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Luthercare Caring Fund, which supports residents in need of benevolent care. All are encouraged to attend the Luther Acres Book Fest, regardless of age or literary background.
