Residents of Luther Acres, the Luthercare community in Lititz, have been working for months to prepare items for the upcoming Holiday Bazaar. Please plan to join us for a fun day of shopping that benefits the Luthercare Caring Fund, which supports benevolent care for residents. This year, the event will be held on Saturday, November 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Luther Acres Towne Center at 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz. Shoppers will be able to pay for their purchases via cash or check.
The bazaar will feature artisan vendors selling a variety of items as well as many items made by Luther Acres residents. Various stands will feature handcrafted items, knitted and crocheted items, wooden crafts, pottery, baskets, painted t-shirts, and more. There will also be an array of donated jewelry, attic treasure items, and Christmas decorations for sale.
A highlight of this year’s bazaar will include the raffle of two donated quilts. One is queen size (84 inches x 84 inches) and was made by a resident. Hand-quilted and hand-embroidered, it features 25 different embroidered squares. The other quilt is 50 inches x 47 inches and was assembled and quilted by machine; it features multi-colored geometric shapes. Ticket prices for the quilt raffles will be $5.00 for two tickets, $10.00 for an arm’s length, or $15.00 for a length of tickets from wrist to wrist. Tickets will be available to purchase during the bazaar until 1:30 p.m. The raffle drawings will be held immediately after ticket sales end.
Before shopping at the bazaar, guests can enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast in Katy’s Grill, a campus restaurant in the Luther Acres Towne Center, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The breakfast features two pancakes, two sausage links, juice, coffee, and tea for $8.00 (cash only) and benefits the Luthercare Caring Fund.
Preparing for the sale and pancake breakfast takes a lot of planning, organizing, and coordinating on behalf of the Luther Acres residents, and they are excited to welcome the public to this fund-raising endeavor. All proceeds from the bazaar are directed to the Caring Fund, which supports benevolent care for Luther Acres residents.
