To support students just beginning their pursuit of a nursing career, Luthercare is offering nursing scholarships to local high school seniors this year.
The scholarships are open to public, private, nonpublic, and homeschool seniors in Lancaster and Lebanon (PA) Counties who plan to pursue a nursing degree. Two $5,000 scholarships and five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applicants are required to complete an application and write an essay (750 words, max) describing why they should receive the scholarship and why they are interested in the field of nursing. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher, coach, mentor, etc., and one from a community member. The scholarship application can be found here.
Applications will be accepted through April 14, 2023. Students are encouraged to apply, even if they have not yet decided which nursing program they will attend. Winners will be invited to attend an awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 10, at Luther Acres, the Luthercare community in Lititz, PA.
