First impressions are everything to Dawn Trimble, which is why when you step into the Muhlenberg Building at Luther Acres—A Luthercare community, it shines from baseboards to ceiling.
Dawn, the Housekeeping Services Coordinator at our Lititz location, started with us in April of 2023 as a housekeeper before being promoted into her current position six months later. Prior to joining our team, she had several years of experience in housekeeping at other retirement communities. Additionally, Dawn has personal experience acting as the primary caregiver for multiple family members — a connection that makes caring for residents even more personal. “To me, residents are family,” Dawn said. “If that was my mom or dad, I’d want them treated with respect and care.”
Every day, Dawn improves residents’ lives by making spaces clean, comfortable, and welcoming. She is responsible for the housekeeping of Personal Care residents’ suites as well as various common spaces throughout the Muhlenberg Building. While the results of cleaning are satisfying to Dawn, the response she gets is even more rewarding: “[Residents] truly appreciate you cleaning their room,” and they are “always giving me compliments,” she said. In between tasks, Dawn enjoys talking with residents, getting to know them individually, and hearing about their hobbies, histories, and families. “They have a lot to give,” she says.
Dawn also adds value through her role as a leader. By training team members, coordinating supplies, and assigning labor, she contributes greatly to the success of our daily operations. Her attitude and work ethic serve as a positive example and help to develop the team-focused environment we strive for. And she’s grateful for her team’s dedication as well. “Whenever you ask for help, they’re willing to help. We’re a team,” she said.
