The Rev. Michael Yesenko will be installed as Chaplain at Spang Crest, a Luthercare community at 945 Duke St., Lebanon, on Sunday, Feb. 19. The installation will take place at 2:15 p.m. in the community’s Chapel of the Abiding Christ. The Rev. Glenn A. Beard, Jr., Luthercare’s Director of Church Relations & Pastoral Care, will preach, and the Rev. Scott Paradise, pastor of Millcreek Lutheran Church in Newmanstown and Dean of the Lebanon Conference of the Lower Susquehanna Synod, ELCA, will preside at the installation.
The Rev. Yesenko, an ordained ELCA pastor, has been serving as Chaplain of Spang Crest since the beginning of January. Pastor Yesenko most recently served as Chaplain of Oak Hill Village, a senior living community in Middletown. He completed a chaplain residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey.
Pastor Yesenko received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and his Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He continued his path into the Lutheran ministry by completing his graduate studies at the United Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg. Prior to his time at seminary, he worked in both the federal and private non-profit sectors.
He enjoys hiking and kayaking and is a native of North Dakota. He now calls Harrisburg home. May our Lord bless Pastor Yesenko as he serves the residents and community at Spang Crest!
