Driver Steve has been with us at St. John’s Herr Estate since September of 2018. As a transportation aide, Steve’s responsibilities include getting residents to and from their destinations, whether on- or off-campus. This gives added independence to residents who lack transportation of their own or need a little assistance getting around.
Trips can include the necessary grocery, appointment, bank, and shopping runs; as well as the more fun trips such as going to the mall, restaurants, and other local attractions. During the vaccine clinics at Luther Acres, our Lititz community, transportation aides were instrumental in helping residents get to and from their appointments for the shot.
When asked, Steve said that he likes bus trips to interesting places, but also just enjoys, “working with seniors and being able to give back.”
It’s exciting to see our residents back out in the greater community. Thank you, Steve, for getting them there!
