Luthercare continues to see success from COVID-19 vaccinations in our communities. We currently have no cases of COVID-19 among residents or team members at our campuses.
In community news, following the advice of our medical director and recognizing the current Lancaster County COVID-19 positivity rate is 2.2% along with the continued increase in resident and team member vaccination participation, Luther Acres will return to pre-COVID unscheduled in-room visitation for all residents, beginning Monday, June 14. COVID-19 testing will no longer be required for visitors; however, the screening process will continue for the visitors to the Healthcare Center and Personal Care.
At Spang Crest, Personal Care residents continue regular in-room visitation. The Healthcare Center is scheduling visits for two more weeks. On Tuesday, June 22, Spang Crest will begin in-room visitation by assigned day. This will continue for two weeks, and then will move to routine pre-pandemic visitation. Currently, all visitors must continue to wear masks at all times when inside the building. When visiting outside, guests may remove masks if the resident is vaccinated.
Luthercare strongly recommends that all visitors who are eligible to receive the vaccine do so, as it is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from contracting the virus. If someone has not received the vaccine and still wants to visit, they will be asked to wear a mask and maintain an appropriate amount of social distance during the visit. The safest place to visit with your loved one is still outdoors.
The continuity of these changes at our campuses will be based on the absence of COVID-19 cases among residents and team members.
