Governor Tom Wolf expanded the Stay At Home Order to the entire state of Pennsylvania on Wednesday to help slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). To date, Luthercare does not have any diagnosed cases of COVID-19 at its communities.
The governor’s stay-at-home order will continue until April 30. Individuals may leave their residence only to perform allowable individual activities and allowable essential travel. Those activities include obtaining medicine and medical supplies, visiting a healthcare professional, or getting necessary supplies such as grocery items. Engaging in outdoor activity, such as walking, is permitted. However, please remember that social distancing of at least 6 feet must be maintained at all times. The coronavirus is highly transmittable, so in order to stop the transmission of the virus, individuals must have little to no contact with others.
The population we serve are the most vulnerable to viruses such as COVID-19. We are continuing to take careful measures to ensure the health and safety of our residents and team members and are following all current guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and local health systems.
Under the governor’s order, essential Luthercare team members are permitted to report to work to care for residents at all of our communities. We are grateful to our dedicated team who goes above and beyond each day for our residents. The administration, clinical staff and support teams have been working around the clock through this pandemic. We thank you for your dedication, professionalism, compassion, teamwork and flexibility. To you, our outstanding team, we say THANK YOU!
To our residents, families and friends, we express our sincere gratitude. Thank you for your patience, cooperation and understanding during this unprecedented time when we have had to implement many changes to your normal routine, including restricting visitors. We hope you are finding other ways to connect with your loved ones – through phone calls, texts, video chat, social media and other virtual means. If you need assistance in connecting with your friends or family, please reach out to your Executive Director or Administrator.
Please continue to practice social distancing and proper hygiene, and stay home.
